Making an Old Idea Relevant Again

Illustrations are a great solution for any brand wanting to express an abstract theme or idea that’s too ambiguous to photograph. But when those illustrations swerve into the world of superhero caricatures, there’s always risk involved.

Business is serious stuff; many companies feel cartoons will trivialize their brand. But not Advent Talent Group, a Midwest-based staffing agency we partnered with during the early stages of the pandemic. They had been using a superhero-based campaign but we saw opportunity to make that idea mean more.

Stack shifted the brand advertising from cartoonish superheroes to amazing super-human women capable of making a difference for any employer. Brimming with confidence and personality, these caped women instantly became visually more acceptable for the corporate world. Just like the real candidates and brand they represent.

Just because an idea is old doesn’t necessarily make it a bad one. Sometimes it just needs an update to be more relevant in today’s world.
